Spanish Language Work
Year 3
This term, the children in Year 3 have been having a go at creating their own playscripts based around the theme of 'La Comida' (Food). They were asked to personalise their dialogue and record a conversation between 2 characters buying food in a market. Can you work out what they have bought?
Year 4
Year 4 enjoyed practising their language skills during our 'Mi Familia' (My Family) topic by introducing themselves and some of their favourite cartoon characters.
Year 5
Year 5 enjoyed our topic on 'La Comida' (Food) and practised expressing their likes and dislikes in Spanish by cooking & tasting food and creating their own shopping playscripts.
Year 6
Year 6 used Pow Strip Design to practise and improve their describing skills.
Throughout the year Dragonflies and Ladybirds have enjoyed completing a range of games and activities to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Spanish.
In our 'Yo' topic (Áll about Me), Year 4 worked in pairs to create a simple conversation in Spanish using the Puppet Pals App on the ipads. Theye were free to choose any fictional characters that they wished, but were asked to greet each other and find out basic information e.g. name and age. Click below to hear a couple of examples.
During our topic on 'Retratos' (Portraits), Year 5 learnt to describe themselves and others and widened their knowledge of Spanish culture by using Popplet to create labels for some of Pablo Picasso's portraits.
Intercultural Understanding
In addition to developing their language skills, throughout the year the children in KS2 have been enjoying learning about various aspects of hispanic culture.
